Visa – Second Home – Indonesia

Visa description
Second Home Visa is a new way of living in Indonesia, which become available from December 25 of 2022. The Visa comes instead of retirement visa which was only for people over 55, but Second Home Visa doesn’t has any age limits. Meaning that foreigners may live in Indonesia using, for instance, their remote income in Internet. Formally it doesn’t regulated by Indonesian law but allowed if you work remotely.

How is to get it?
There are two ways of getting Second Home Visa:

Buy property in Baliin Hak Pakai status. Unlike Hak Sewa status or longterm lease (leashold), Hak Pakai is the way of ownership which may extend indefinitely – in 30, 50 and 80 years you’ll pay fee 0,3% of land value. It may be sold and inherited to both foreign and Indonesian heirs. You can read more about forms of ownership in Indonesia here.

Make a deposit of 2 billion rupees in a state Indonesian bank. The deposit is non-withdrawable for the duration of your stay in Indonesia, and the presence of the required amount can be checked by the migration service in any time

List of banks authorized to make a deposit under the Second Home Visa program:

• Bank Mandiri
• Bank BNI
• Bank B.R.I.
• Bank Tabungan Negara
• Bank Syariah Indonesia

The interest on a deposit for a Second Home Visa is allowed, the amount of interest is from 2% to 3%, depending on the bank.

What paperwork are needed?

• visa application
• a letter in which the applicant declares his good intentions and undertakes not to violate the law
• passport valid for at least 36 months
• certificate of vaccination against Covid-19 and a letter of guarantee on compliance with medical protocols
• confirmation of funds in the amount of $ 2,000
• bank statement showing a deposit of IDR 2 billion or proof of ownership with Hak Pakai status
• your resume
• two photographs 4 sm x 6 sm

Is it possible to add a family?
Yes you are! No extra deposits or property to own, you will just list your family. You will only have to show a birth or a marriage certificate confirming the relationship with your husband or wife, children and parents.

Time of receipt and cost
The cost will be 3 million rupees per person, for family members this amount is less. It will takes a no more than 4 days after the application is submitted to receive Second Home Visa in Bali.
